In 2019, I illustrated an idea for a Graphic Novel along with Fabian Flores, who made the script for this story. In 2020 we won a fund from the Ministry of Culture in Chile to produce it. I drew, tinted and coloured the pages.
"Hallaca" tells the story of Paola, a venezuelan migrant living in Santiago. With time, she starts obsessing on finding a flavor that will take her back to her past, while dealing with the perks of being an outsider and finding herself again.
This story is not autobiographical, but is very close to mine. As a migrant, its hard to let go the idea of a defined identity and embracing your whole self as it is, a human with feelings, with history and with dreams.
